I can totally relate. Most may assume Jane is common, but it is not. Especially not in the 80s when a little girl was searching for a heart shaped pin with Jane written on it. Thank goodness personalized items are easy to attain now as I chose unique names for my sons, specifically b/c of my own "plain" name.
I'm with you, Vicki, as "Marianne" is never among the choices, either. However, at Petite Cafe here in Winterset, a sandwich regularly on offer is "The Marianne," a variation of my own semi-famous chicken salad. To paraphrase (you), "Fame does not have to come from a major source. It could be . . . relatively minor."
Jane, I can't believe that your name is not common. With only 4 letters it should fit comfortably on a label, keychain, name plate...etc. ;)
Kali, on a positive note, at least we can share the disapointment. ;)
Marianne, at least you are satisfied with a sandwich in your name. ;)
Nope, Victoria would be the closest. ;)
Oh, boy, such is my lot in life, too. Never a "Kali" to be found. Sad trombone.

What? No Vicki? No Vicky? No Vickee?
