Springtime Joys with Daisy
Laughter does not have to come from a major source. It could be ... relatively minor.
Spring has arrived, and my sole companion is Daisy—not a vibrant bouquet of pretty yellow flowers, but a lovable purebred dog weighing over forty pounds. She embodies the spirit of spring with her playful nature and lively presence. Daisy enjoys lounging in bed like a perennial bloom, sprawling on the couch during the day, and often rolling onto her back before drifting off to blissful sleep. Sometimes, after a long and tiring day, I can’t help but envy her because she looks so incredibly comfortable.
However, I don’t mean to imply that Daisy spends all day soaking up the sun like a plant. She has her agenda that keeps my husband and me on our toes. Our daily routine revolves around her whims as we let her out, let her in, let her out again, and repeat this cycle endlessly. Surprisingly, we have become adept at catering to her insistent requests. Adding a tennis ball to the mix keeps Daisy entertained and gives my husband a fun excuse to exercise. I suspect he retired primarily to take on his new full-time role as a tennis ball launcher. During leisurely afternoons, he settles into the recliner, turns on the TV, and lets his fingers dance with the remote while tossing the ball over the couch to Daisy, who eagerly anticipates her next fetching opportunity.
I don’t mean to suggest that my husband switches channels in the recliner all day. He’s also a dedicated gardener who deeply appreciates roses and the joy they bring—even if it sometimes includes a thorn embedded in his thumb after digging up five stubborn bushes in front of our house for two exhausting days.
In truth, Daisy runs our household with the commanding presence of a small queen. My husband jokingly claims he has become nothing more than a tennis ball launcher, while I tease that we need a "Daisy's Day Off" to recover from her enthusiastic demands. Spring has arrived, and I have my delightful Daisy instead of roses. When my husband says, “I never promised you a rose garden,” I simply smile, fully embracing the joy she brings into our lives.

OMG, yes, that would be perfect! Please share.
What a beautiful dog. I have a song named Daisy. I hope you consider it for a theme song. 🌼
