I threw caution to the wind, and Mother Nature promptly tossed it back in my face with gusts exceeding fifty miles per hour. This month has been so windy that I hesitate to spit into the wind for fear of getting a face full of the fallout. Usually, I go with the flow and wait to see how the wind blows. However, just shooting the breeze has me feeling a bit uneasy. Until I learned, “The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,” I felt a bit lost. Although when I thought I had all the answers, they had already blown away to the next county!

March comes in like a lamb or a lion—sometimes, both compete for the spotlight. Though nature excels in her dramatic flair, someone accidentally leaves the gate open, allowing the jungle king to devour the innocent young sheep. The winds of change have left us hanging out on a limb, desperately picking up the debris scattered throughout the yard. And that's no lion's share of fun! Thankfully, we aren't staring down the eye of the hurricane… or are we? The next morning, those celebrating St. Patrick's Day were four sheets to the wind—though I hear the original saying mentioned three. A second wind inspired a leprechaun to try lighting a candle in the wind, perhaps adding magic to the chaos.
But fear not! Next month promises much calmer weather as spring approaches. Even though the first day begins with an April fool, I'm egg-cited to see the gray hares multiply on the twentieth while some bunny hops through the yard with a basket of treats.
I often miss my beloved kite, which I lost on that unforgettable day when I saw it twist and turn in the wind. Tomorrow, I’m heading to Kansas to retrieve it, and I might stop by to visit Auntie Em. After all, there’s no place like home… or at least, home with a kite!
